Sit Pearson Edexcel exams from home, with a live invigilator.
When travelling to an exam centre is not possible, candidates can take International GCSE and International A Level written papers from home. iBOS enters the candidate with Pearson and guides the family from registration to results.

A route for candidates a centre cannot easily reach.
Not every student can sit high-stakes exams in a school or college. Remote invigilation keeps the same Pearson Edexcel qualification, the same papers and the same grades, while the candidate sits in a suitable room at home.
Private candidates
Home-educated students and anyone studying independently who needs an entry centre for International GCSEs or International A Levels.
Families living abroad
Candidates where no nearby centre accepts external candidates, or where travelling to a host centre is impractical. The service is not available in every country, so we check yours first.
iBOS pupils
Enrolled pupils for whom sitting at the school in London or at a host centre is not the right arrangement.
Four steps from enquiry to exam day.
iBOS is the entry centre: we register the candidate with Pearson, apply the remote invigilation option and handle results, certificates and post-results services.
- Step 1
Contact the Exams Office
Tell us the qualification, subjects and series you have in mind and the country the candidate will sit in. We confirm the subjects available, eligibility, charges and the entry deadline, which comes earlier than for exams sat in a centre.
- Step 2
Agree the Terms of Use
A parent or guardian confirms agreement to Pearson’s service Terms of Use in writing to iBOS before the candidate is given access. iBOS then makes the entry with Pearson for remote invigilation.
- Step 3
Practise before the exam
Every candidate takes a familiarisation session on the assessment player. Pearson also provides a student handbook, video guides and demo access, so nothing on the day is new.
- Step 4
Sit the exam at home
A live invigilator supervises through the webcam and microphone. A parent or guardian is present at login and available during set-up and submission.
Written papers across International GCSE and International A Level.
This is the list in Pearson’s guide for the May–June 2026 series. Pearson can change it between series, so the Exams Office confirms what is available for the series you are planning.
