01

Is it a school, a course provider or a tutoring service?

Clarify who employs and supervises teachers, who owns the curriculum, how attendance is managed and which organisation is accountable for the pupil’s complete experience.

02

How much teaching is genuinely live?

Ask to see lesson samples and a timetable. “Online learning” may describe live classes, recordings, independent tasks or a mixture, and the balance changes the pupil experience.

03

What surrounds the lessons?

Compare form teacher contact, assemblies, safeguarding, learning support, clubs, parent reporting, assessment and routes for raising concerns, not only the subject list.

04

Can the school prove its claims?

Look for named leaders, verifiable accreditation, dated results with cohort context, recognised examination pathways, policies and attributed family experiences.

05

Does the practical model fit this pupil?

Review participation expectations, time zone, current attainment, support needs, fees and the next qualification or destination with the child’s own perspective included.
