Council of International Schools (CIS) Accreditation

In November 2023, iBOS had the privilege of hosting the evaluation team for our conclusive accreditation visit, spanning from the 5th to the 10th of November. The initial feedback provided by the lead evaluator and deputy lead evaluator was overwhelmingly positive. We received accreditation from CIS in February 2024, and we became the only CIS accredited online school

Department for Education (DfE) Accreditation

On 27th and 28th March 2024, Senior HMI Inspectors Mark Quinn and John Nixon from Ofsted visited the International British Online School to evaluate it against the OEAS standards. These standards assess key quality benchmarks for online education providers, including curriculum quality, student progress, safeguarding policies, leadership, fiscal management, and overall school effectiveness. In May 2024, iBOS received accreditation from the Department for Education (DfE) in the UK in collaboration with the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted).

iBOS has always opened its doors to all quality assurance organisations, including CIS, SOH, JCQ and others, to exemplify educational innovation and accountability.

Here are some highlights from the OFSTED inspection report:

  • The principal and the senior leaders have high expectations of pupils and students at International British Online School. They provide a broad academic curriculum and are ambitious for pupils to achieve well.
  • A particular strength of the school is the excellent relationships that are established between pupils and teachers. These enable pupils to engage well with learning and develop highly positive attitudes. Despite a high turnover of staff, teachers have worked diligently to ensure that a well-designed and effective curriculum remains in place.
  • Leaders have ensured that the school’s curriculum policy is supported by comprehensive and detailed schemes of work. These take account of the anticipated capabilities of pupils.
  • The curriculum provides a wide range of subjects, including all areas of learning that are included in the standards. Pupils gain experience of linguistic, mathematical, human and social, scientific, technological and physical education (PE). They are able to study towards recognised international qualifications at GCSE and A level. Many pupils go on to study at various universities, including Russell Group universities in the UK.
