Why iBOS Primary

A real school behind every screen.

iBOS teachers deliver lessons from the school’s London base, which supports consistent teaching, safeguarding oversight and the accountable school structure families expect.

01

Real teachers, live from London

Every lesson is taught live by a UK-qualified teacher from the iBOS school building in London, not from home. Pupils answer, ask their own questions and work through tasks while the teacher checks understanding.

02

A school day children recognise

Form time or an assembly starts each morning, then live lessons, planned breaks and pastoral contact. Optional enrichment from Year 3 gives the week a school rhythm rather than leaving families to assemble learning themselves.

03

Recognition you can check

iBOS is accredited by the Department for Education after an Ofsted inspection found the school met all the minimum standards, and is accredited by the Council of International Schools. The primary records are public.

04

Flexible schooling that is still a school

For pupils who need a different setting, including young athletes and performers, the timetable, attendance and qualifications stay those of one accountable school. Learning-support needs are discussed openly with Admissions before a place is offered.

Primary at iBOS

Reading, writing and mathematics come first.

English and mathematics establish the fluency, vocabulary, reasoning and confidence children need for every later stage. Science, humanities and wider subjects help pupils connect those foundations to the world around them.

Key Stage 1 · Years 1–2 · Ages 5–7

A warm, structured start

Carefully sequenced live lessons develop reading, writing, speaking, listening, number fluency and mathematical reasoning, with routines suited to younger children.

  • English and literacy
  • Mathematics and numeracy
  • Science and understanding the world
Key Stage 2 · Years 3–6 · Ages 7–11

Breadth, curiosity and independence

English, mathematics and science stay central alongside humanities, computing, languages and creative learning, preparing pupils for subject-specialist teaching in Years 7–9.

  • History and geography
  • Computing, languages and creative subjects
  • Enrichment clubs from Year 3

Families can see attendance, work and feedback and stay in direct contact with their child’s teachers. This is a partnership with parents, not an expectation that parents become the teacher.

A day at iBOS

In their words

What Primary families say.

“… lessons are live, classes are small and diverse – my boy adores that we have kids from different parts of the world, speaking different languages and from different cultures – he immediately made friends there …”

OlgaParent · Dima’s mother · Year 1/2

“… She comes from private schools in the UK. Moving out, we needed to continue the system, and we bet on iBOS to have continuity as it took much work to find good schools outside the UK. …”

AmirParent · Soraya’s father · Year 5

“One of my favourite things about iBOS is that we are taught many different languages, which increases my self confidence and makes us familiar with different cultures. I love getting to see my friends from all over the world every day.”

Questions families ask first

Will my child have friends and a social life?

School is shared, not solitary. Pupils attend live lessons, form time and assemblies with the same classmates, clubs and enrichment let them meet others beyond their timetable, and student council and leadership roles give them an active part in school life.

How many hours a day is my child online?

The school day runs Monday to Friday in UK time. It starts at 07:15 with form time or an assembly, followed by five one-hour live lessons with a fifteen-minute morning break and a full lunch break away from the screen. The taught day ends at 13:45; optional enrichment clubs run until 14:45 on club days.

What do parents need to do?

School staff teach, assess, report and manage the academic programme. Families support routines, equipment, communication and wellbeing, but they are not expected to replace subject teachers. A stable connection of at least 8 Mbps download and 4 Mbps upload is recommended for live lessons.

Is iBOS a recognised school?

Primary pupils follow the British curriculum by year group and receive school reports during the year. iBOS is accredited by the Department for Education and the Council of International Schools, and pupils can continue into iBOS Secondary, where they work towards Pearson Edexcel International GCSEs.

Can my child move to a traditional school later?

iBOS follows the British curriculum by year group, and pupils receive school reports during the year. International GCSE and International A Level certificates are issued by Pearson Edexcel, the same certificates candidates from any other school receive. Admissions can talk through a planned move at the family interview.

Can my child join during the school year?

Yes, where a place is available in the right year group. Admissions agrees a start date with the family, and teachers plan support to help pupils who join mid-year catch up with their class.
