Sixth Form Prospectus

In addition to a strong academic emphasis, students have access to numerous enrichment opportunities. A bespoke careers, work experience and employability programme ensures that every student is guided through the UCAS process to secure access to the best universities. 6th form students are also able to apply for positions of responsibility throughout the school, such as membership of the Student Council.

Furthermore, thanks to our dynamic 6th Form Programme which focuses individualised learning, we are able to ensure that all our students are equipped with not only the qualifications they need to gain entry to leading institutions, but also the understanding, agile-thinking, self-awareness, leadership and confidence to thrive at university and beyond as global citizens.

Code of Conduct

6th form students at iBOS are expected to follow school rules at all times. They are considered role models for younger students and it is essential that they set a high standard of behaviour, dress and academic excellence. On arrival in our 6th form, students are expected to read and sign a code of conduct, and adhere to the terms of this at all times.

Academic Life

The 6th form offers a wide range of academic A Level courses. Students are expected to dedicate themselves to their studies by spending at least 5 hours per week on each of their subjects outside of their lesson time. Students are also expected to take a greater degree of responsibility for their learning by using their non-contact time constructively. We recognise that the transition from GCSE to A Level is a difficult one for some students, which is why we provide all students with a form tutor to oversee all aspects of their development. Daily tutorial contact ensures students have the opportunity to discuss their academic progress and development. Furthermore, students’ progress is monitored through a process of academic tutoring. A report is sent home every term commenting on each student’s academic achievement, attitude, punctuality and attendance.
