Message from the Principal

Dear All,

A big thank you for your continued support and encouragement of all our students at the International British Online School. I feel incredibly privileged and proud to be working alongside some very special and talented individuals (students, parents and the staff team). As such, I am committed to securing the very best possible outcomes and successes in all that we do.

Since the start of the academic year, I have been impressed with the dedication of staff, and the support of our parents and local partners in driving achievements and successes forwards. Some examples include the Raising Aspirations Day, Achieving the full membership of the Society of Heads, Our first external exams hosted at our school site, CIS membership visit, End of Term Awards, Work Experience Week for Year 10s and Year 12, Students’ representation at the Dubai Expo, Positive Conversations with numerous Education Government Officials (including the meeting with Dr Abdullah Al Karam- Chairman of the Board of Director General of the KHDA, UAE, and the Minister for Schools in the UK), Attendance Awards, and links with local authorities, to name just a few.

Plans to embrace as well as develop opportunities for our young people are very high on my agenda. These include an extended curriculum (offering more comprehensive options across the school day), further links with local and international employers and charities (to increase work placements and social enterprise), working in partnership with other local and international education providers (to extend programmes and inclusion opportunities), and project work, research and presenting to a broader audience (to enable others to understand and value the qualities and strengths of our young people).

There will be further developments to the curriculum taking place in the Autumn term; we will keep you updated regularly. Timetables, welcome back letters and additional information will be sent via the Admin Team in August.

Unfortunately, we will say goodbye to Ms Gonzalez at the end of this term, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

I am pleased to announce the promotion of Ms Priessnitz to Director of Learning, in charge of Sixth Form. Welcome to the Senior Leadership Team, Ms Priessnitz.

A warm welcome to Dr Sadraei (Science and Biology), Mr Rahman (Mathematics), Mr Saleem (Science and Physics) and Ms Kavanagh (SLT-Director of Learning), who will be joining us from September 2022.

To all the young people leaving iBOS this year, I wish you all the very best for a happy and healthy future. Please do keep in touch and come and visit at any time.

Please do check our website as it is regularly updated with the latest information from the School. The School Office is open throughout the Summer break from 7 am to 3:30 pm BST.

All the very best to you all and have a lovely summer break.

Dr Farshad Mohammadi
